Today's design wall

Today I will be finishing up my 9-patches for my 1800's swap.  I have five sets done and two more to go.  We are making seven sets of eight blocks each.  This is what I have so far.  My picture is a bit bright.  The fabrics are not quite that white.

In my previous post I show how I am able to accurately cut and sew my 9-patches.  I am able to do about 12 of them start to finish in about an hour and 15 minutes.  I don't hurry, I take my time but when I am done there is no extra trimming necessary.  I hope that some will find that helpful, if so, please let me know.  Thanks!

Yesterday I took time off  to finish a book I was reading and to bake some cookies.  They are a favorite recipe that my husband got from a former coworker years ago.  Just Peanut Butter cookies really -  but they are so good.  Then I add chocolate chips to them.

Hezzie wants to get in on the action just in case a morsel or two falls to the floor.  He stays right by me when I am cooking or baking.

Yesterday, after the cookies were done he stayed in the kitchen "guarding" the counter.  If anyone came in to get a cookie he was right there waiting for them to share their cookie with him.  DH decided to take him for a walk which normally he would be spinning circles to do.  He went outside, walked to the end of the drive, did his business, looked back at the house, turned around and headed back.  He came right back into the kitchen!  I think he was afraid I was going to eat all of the cookies and he wasn't going to get any!!  :)  (That could have been true - ha ha!)  He eventually gave up after staying near the counter and guarding it for most of the evening - persistent little fellow! :)

Well, I am going to link up with all the others at Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday.  Be sure to go check out what everyone else has up on their design walls.   Thank you to Judy L. for letting us link up to her site.  It is always very inspirational!

Have a wonderful day!

Mini-9's have become a staple ingredient in my quilting pantry. Thanks for the tutorial for accurate piecing! (And I enjoyed your Mayo/LeSueur post.)
